I should also advise you up front that I am a Hellenic polytheist, ancestor worshipper, and animist, and I am really hoping to see, anywhere it might come up, respect for my religious beliefs. I admit to skewing my requests in favor of stories from my religious tradition. This hope is an optional detail, but I want to highlight the DNW of "Disrespect to my religious beliefs".

Likes: FEMSLASH. GEN. Ladies being awesome. People of color being awesome. Queer people being awesome. Trans and genderqueer people being awesome. People of minority religions (especially polytheists, ancestor worshippers, and animists) being awesome. Disabled people being awesome. Competence kink. Ordinary people caught in extraordinary events. Worldbuilding! The standard European-fairytale setting is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. Fet-Fruners's father and sisters are not nominated characters, but if you can work them in—the father's clearly not aware that transness is a thing, because he's so upset that he has no sons, but what do the sisters think? I do have one specific prompt: the wedding of Fet-Fruners and Iliane.

A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. Setting it in Medusa's time is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. I am interested in Neptune's interest in Medusa, what was going on in Medusa's head from beginning to end of the story, and Minerva's reactions and motivations—like, there's the canonical "rape in MY temple, violating MY space as well as the woman's body", but there's also, I've heard, that a gorgon face is apotropaic (that is, it turns away evil) precisely because of this story, and also that a gorgon face in ancient Greece marked women's shelters, precisely because of this story—because Minerva gave Medusa protection, not a curse. As you might have guessed, this request is an explicit exception to the "non-con" DNW.

The Wonderful Weaver - James Baldwin

A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine, especially if it goes more into Arachne's psyche. Setting it in Arachne's time is awesome; so is a modern AU, but of course preserve the fiber art elements. The story of Arachne and Athena is one of my favorites and I just want more.
