from a presently untitled thing that's supposed to be for my mlwritersguild December prompt but you will notice it's getting awfully close to Not December:

"And if not," Marinette added, two fingers on the pink bead of the choker at her throat, "I'll kick their asses." She paused. "Or steal Carapace's shield and make him kick their asses."

Adrien laughed, opening his eyes to glance over Marinette's outfit and his own, closely enough matched in color and style that people were going to think Tom & Sabine's had an employee uniform now. (They did have name tags—Marinette had made those weeks ago—which they must have swapped to set up some joke; Adrien's read 'Marinette' and Marinette's read 'Léonel'.) "And you'll look great doing it, too."
