No, really. You know Tamora Pierce's The Circle Opens quartet? Trisana is the redhead who keeps lightning (and earthquakes and tides and I forget what else) in her braids. I've got red hair, and last night I was brushing it in the dark and there were all these little blue sparks. Baby lightning.
This may amuse me more than it has a right to.
