Another word of advice: Don't donate frozen food unless you're a hundred percent confident that it will go from your hands straight into a freezer. Otherwise it will sit and thaw and have to be thrown out.
Attention, manufacturers of canned and packaged goods: Put the expiration date on the item. Somewhere obvious, ideally, but as long as it's on there for anyone who doesn't know your codes to read, it's good.
