alexseanchai: Yuugi and friends defend Yami Yuugi's mind and cards from Pegasus's mind-reading Millennium Eye (Yu-Gi-Oh! friendship)
TIMELINES, SHOW, HAVE YOU HEARD OF THEM. How can Rebecca claim to be the American Duel Monsters champ not three days after Duelist Kingdom, when Keith was the American Duel Monsters champ going into Duelist Kingdom?

Unless the duel Keith lost to Pegasus was rather longer before Duelist Kingdom than I thought, and Keith didn't duel in the interim, and Rebecca took his place? But then you'd think at some point during the eightish episodes Keith appeared in Duelist Kingdom, somebody would have thought to mention that Keith is the former American champion, and (Keith being the macho dudebro type) the fact that Keith losing his title to a little girl was probably humiliating as hell same as Keith losing a duel to Pegasus's stunt with the Millennium Eye and the little-boy spectator...

Also, why in fuck is Rebecca eight in the dub when she's twelve in the sub?

And how, in the dub, does Yami Yuugi know he used to be a pharaoh, or what people have been calling him over the millennia? Neither sub nor manga says squat about that.
alexseanchai: Claire and Emma (Emma/Claire)
I have a confused. Apparently the Supernatural spinoff just cast its leads. *IMDBs the names* To everybody's shock, one of them is not a white dude.

The confused is something else, though. If you compare this report with this report, note that one mentions brown dude's dead fiance, and one mentions brown dude's dead fiancee.

This is kind of a crucial distinction, folks. Canonically-queer brown lead character? Sold, even given that the guy our lead is queer with is dead and also there's no sign yet of any women in the cast. Straight male lead character with dead lady backstory? Fuck the women-in-refrigerators bullshit, no matter how much I want to encourage brown leads.
alexseanchai: Yuugi the legendary warrior (Yu-Gi-Oh! Yuugi the legendary warrior)
There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good, and when she was bad, she was horrid.
alexseanchai: Yami Yuugi's eye (Yu-Gi-Oh! Yami Yuugi eye)
Okay. Dungeon Dice Monsters. The game board is composed of the dice themselves—they're hollow and they unfold. And they have monsters in, which move along the paths created by unfolding the dice. Supposing a game that doesn't take place in a fancy Kaiba Corp holographic arena, how are the dice fair? Because the monsters would have to weight the dice, pretty much, and the dice could easily unlatch upon striking the surface they're rolled on.

ETA: You know what would make sense? There's the small dice made of plastic or whatever, which one rolls, and there's the accompanying identical set of bigger dice made of thin cardboard or whatever, which one unfolds.
alexseanchai: Anzu has had it with this nonsense (Yu-Gi-Oh! Anzu sweatdrop)
Apparently Yuugi's mom does in fact appear in the anime.

In two episodes. And the dub cut her out of one of those episodes, and she never spoke in the other.
