Iiii do not know if I can participate? The post explicitly states (though the submission guidelines, weirdly, don't) a collection of fantasy short stories written by disabled writers about disabled characters, and I don't know where to categorize myself with respect to disability. (Depression, social anxiety disorder, mild asthma. I don't know if any of that makes me a disabled person.) But I know there are people reading me who can participate, and I want to make sure all y'all and y'all's friends know about this in case you would like to participate.

Things what Kaiba Seto slash Kaiba Corp never apparently took into account when designing arenas and duel disks, but really could and should have:

How to operate a duel disk with fewer than two arms.

How to get into an arena while using a wheelchair. (Or while afraid of heights.)

How to operate the advanced voice-recognition software obviously contained in both the arenas and the duel disks when one's primary means of communication are typing and sign.

Alternate applications for said advanced voice-recognition software.

Alternate applications for the holographic displays.

(Depending on how Kaiba Corp tech recognizes Duel Monsters cards—like, are there barcodes that the tech scans, or really slim microchips embedded, or is it stellar optical character recognition, or what? microchips seem likeliest because the tech has to be able to recognize the cards with either side up, but—:) Alternate applications for the means by which Kaiba Corp tech recognizes Duel Monsters cards.



Things what Pegasus slash Industrial Illusions never apparently took into account when designing Duel Monsters, but really could and should have, at least after the partnership with Kaiba Corp (which obviously started sufficiently pre-canon to allow Kaiba Corp tech to produce holograms of designs copyright Industrial Illusions throughout canon—wait, am I swiping from myaibou again?):

How to play Duel Monsters when one's primary means of consuming texts are screenreaders and Braille. (It would be so easy, given pieces of tech already shown in canon as of Battle City (thinking in particular of the dueling robot Kaiba tested Obelisk against), to produce an arena or duel disk that could recite the cards in one's hand to one's earbud.)
