What brilliant person decided to make the first chapter of the introductory text of this learn-Spanish sequence (like, English-speaking person starting from zero Spanish vocab is where this text is supposed to be aimed) mostly in Spanish?

And it's not like I'm taking an on-campus course and have the teacher available to go "como se dice" and "qué significa" at in realtime, either. This is the text assigned to Ecampus SPAN 111. And because of reasons, I am trying to self-teach here. Reasons being, I have credit for SPAN 111, so I can't take the course for credit, but my previous study is like six years old and mostly long since memory-holed. And I need six sequential courses' worth of credit in a foreign language for my BA and Mandarin isn't an option.

Complained to my sister. She thinks I should suck up the tuition problem and retake SPAN 111. :(

First, the standard bit about what I like: Ladies being awesome. Bechdel passing. People of color being awesome. Nonbinary characters being awesome. Porn, pornless shippy fic, gen. Ordinary people caught in extraordinary events. Worldbuilding! If you're leaning porny: bondage, body modification, endurance, nipple play (okay, really breast play, but kink_wiki doesn't have a tag for that), sensation play, temperature play, impact play with the emphasis on play, toys toys toys, soft sensuous things, and writing.

Things I dislike: Underage. Non-con. Anything sexy involving eating or excreting (though if you want to write food porn in the sense of conveying what a tasty meal the characters are having, go to town). Disrespectful treatment of [insert marginalized group here]. Cross-generational sexual and/or romantic relationships, though if an involved character does not, in my head, have an age, then it won't bother me as long as all the involved characters are clearly adult. I can't really explain any better than that; this makes about as much sense to me as it does to you. Sorry about that. (For purposes related to this request, fae stop having an age once they hit maturity.)

I love this show to bits. I'm intrigued by all the possibilities here: Haruna and Ikuko conspiring over Usagi's grades, or exploring a mutual interest. Naru and Usagi being best friends with benefits, or discovering that friendship is here a prelude to romance. Ami and Usagi discovering a mutual interest, or studying and/or "studying" together. Rei and Usagi keeping each other entertained, or fight-fight-kiss. Rei and Ami bonding over something neither expected, or practicing their powers. I want to see Jan and Li Qin being happy together. Note that April is very important to Jan (and, for all Li Qin didn't rate a mention in A Local Habitation, to Li Qin), so if the story takes place after Jan meets April, April needs at least to be acknowledged, if not to have an active role in the story (depends what genre you're writing, really). I also want to see May and Jazz hanging out together, or taking on a situation that isn't quite bad enough to involve Toby. As I write this I haven't read A Winter Long, but I will have done by reveals time, so no fear of spoiling me if you incorporate information from that book.

In my head, all of these (except Mai/Ty Lee) are less prompts for that pairing and more prompts for the AU that would make that pairing possible. What if Suki came with the Gaang when she first met them instead of staying on Kyoshi Island a while longer? What if Yue lived? What if, what if, what if? As for Mai/Ty Lee, that one seems to slide right into canon, just beyond Azula's watchful eye. But it could also be the AU where they came with the Gaang after beating Azula at the Boiling Rock. And again, if sexytimes happen, everybody involved is at least sixteen, okay?

Seems to me that the pairing constitutes the prompt here. (If you go with Queen/Knight, I would prefer the relationship be one that existed before the Queen ascended to a position of authority over the Knight. Seems there'd be some power imbalance issues if anything else were the case.)
