Feb. 5th, 2015 08:29 pmSo my physical backup of the files on my desktop has apparently never successfully run. Ever.
I finally got around to DuckDuckGoing what to do about the error the backup utility was throwing, and it involves chkdsking all involved disks. Which of course includes the C: drive. Which can't be chkdsked while the computer is operating normally.
So I told the computer to chkdsk the L: drive while I slept yesterday and M: drive while I was at work today, and this proceeded fine afaik. Then I restarted it so it could chkdsk the C: drive. Couple minutes later it was at 11% complete, at 6K files checked of the 500K total. Okay, says I, I don't think that maths but whatever; this shouldn't take long.
Two hours later, it is at 335K files checked and 11% complete.
Yay laptop?
