Because reasons I am browsing Amazon trying to find a cabinety/armoirelike thing with a door that shuts, something that is small enough to sit on top of the bookshelf by my computer desk. (Jewelry armoire might do except for obvious reasons such things tend to contain little drawers and whatnot for keeping jewelry in!)

I can't figure out the right search keywords! Either that or the thing I am envisioning simply doesn't exist.

For future reference, searching for "miniature armoire" gets results that fit in dollhouses. This is not what one might call productive!

I should concede defeat on trying to do brainy tasks and just go do a bit of yoga and then go to bed.

would bloody help if I'd eaten sometime between eight pm and one am, wouldn't it?

Attn: people: effective immediately, pronoun me as they/their/them.

(I had reasons for 'ze' over 'they' a couple years ago, but 'ze' is sounding increasingly awkward to me and 'they' has recorded linguistic history as a singular pronoun that predates Shakespeare, so I'm happier with 'they' now.)

Good? Good.

I believe I want to make dinner for my family. Not tonight, that dinner plan is already well in progress, but tomorrow. I also need to make work lunches for next week. ETA: I forgot we're going to the May the Fourth square dance up at Rutgers tomorrow. Which means dinner is probably eating out with some of the other Rutgers crowd. Hmph. (They're good folks, it's just. I wanna make a family dinner for reasons. Work lunches are not a family dinner.)

Gah. What to make?

(Suggestions sort of welcome? What I'm making depends mostly on what we have in the house...)

Oh hey starting tomorrow it's supposed to be consistently over 70F out for a week and a half! I should start the mead-making process tomorrow. Or Monday, if we do in fact go to the dance tomorrow.

I am declaring Victory over The Box. The Box was an ordinary box until I filled it with Stuff To Be Rid Of. I haven't quite got up the nerve to go dump The Box and its contents in the dumpster—in fact what is probably going to happen, because it is all usable Stuff and also I know where I got the Thing about Not Getting Rid Of, is I'll give it to Mom and tell her to sort it into garage-sale, Mom-keep, and trash. But the contents of The Box are most decidedly Stuff I Am Getting Rid Of. So. Victory.

I deserve a cookie. Hey, look, cookies!

On a related note, an hour later: Finished reading Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I am so not sold on the "get rid of books" thing, regardless of her reasoning. But I think, tomorrow if we do not go to the dance, I am going to [attempt to] take All My Clothes and pile them on the floor and Get Rid Of, and see how Kondo's "does it spark joy? if not, bye" approach works in practice. I need to get rid of some of my clothes anyway, they don't all fit in the dresser and closet. >_>
