I don't want to weed my booooooks. :(
Jun. 26th, 2015 11:10 amI can't seem to log on to LibraryThing from this laptop (not sure if wrong/mistyped password or NoScript error or what the deal is) so I'm not sure exactly how many dead-tree books I have, but given the sheer volume of them and the number that have been boxed up untouched for months, I have a suspicion that I need rather fewer than I have. Nothing like Marie Kondo "thirty is a reasonable size for a personal library" fewer—my personal library, counting only physical books, is into the four digits—but fewer.
I am probably going to talk myself into giving away a fuckton of them on condition that the recipient pays the shipping, or possibly donate a fuckton to the Friends of the [Local] Library also/instead, as in either event I am fairly certain they will go to good homes, and—unlike with selling them to the local bookstore (which will soon have a new home! they are not closed for good, they're just moving nearly as far north as they can get and still be in this county!) for store credit—that shouldn't provide me with temptation to buy more books. But damn is that going to be painful.
Also should wait until I have cleaned my room, because then I will have floor space on which to sort books without having to haul boxes downstairs.
I so, so, so do not want to weed my books.
...ow, okay, typing this entry two-handed was a Bad Plan. I'll stop.
ETA: 1299 hardcopy books.

Jun. 26th, 2015 05:32 pmThe swelling in my right wrist is worse than yesterday, which was (I'm pretty sure) worse than Wednesday. I am home from work again, because while loosening the wrist brace got me through Thursday no trouble, that isn't working today. (My manager tried to guilt-trip me into staying. Look, ma'am, I'm really sorry that this leaves you shorthanded. I'd be sorrier if I tried to work another five hours with a part-numb, part-OW hand.)
So dinner is mint chocolate chunk ice cream and a glass of mead, because fuck everything except rainbows, and fuckthese six fish carpal tunnel in particular. And I am putting in Jupiter Ascending, and being sad that I cannot liveblog it, and I am shutting up now to ice my wrist.
