where the firelight fades progress report: ch 5 is now longer than ch 2, still a couple thousand words short of ch 4, which is probably about right for how long I want 5.3 to be. except 5.3 is mostly a scene that, every time I drafted it in my head, was in the other PoV character's perspective? idk. anyway I crossed 27K.
