Oct. 24th, 2019 02:34 pm* the key combo to bring up my laptop's emoji keyboard has stopped working (both keys work individually)
* after booting up, I have to click in order to bring up the login PIN box, because arrow and enter keys aren't doing anything (all those keys work elsewhere)
* enter also doesn't work in calculator, I have to click equals
* the 5 has flat out detached itself from the keyboard (if I put it back it stays put for a while and it does its job)
*heaves sigh*
ETA Nov 4: biggest concern is getting the machine to boot up again At All without using the Knoppix USB boot stick. (it's supposed to boot into Windows 10. it's not dual-boot with Ubuntu but that's because I don't know how I screwed up the install.) preferably without replacing the hard drive. also worried about how often there's 100% disk utilization and multiple hundred milliseconds response time. and unplugging the laptop at 100% battery used to mean more than three hours before I had to plug it in or turn it off.
