Me: You know that queer Hallmark Christmas movie plot where she goes home to Smalltown for the holidays, remembers why she left, and books it back to Citypolis, complete w/romantic arc over text with Citypolis bestie (& bringing a Smalltown refugee home with her)? Wanna write it.

Also Me: I haven't read any stories of any description not hosted on AO3 in several years (except a couple stray novelettes), the hell do I think I'm doing trying to plot an original romance
