(no subject)

apparently the reason I am no longer getting youtube notifications is, some of the channels I am subscribed to, youtube thinks I want "personalized" notifications, whatever the fuck that means, and some of the others are "made for kids" channels and therefore do not notify people at all.

…as far as I knew until five minutes ago, the entire and only purpose of subscribing to youtube channels is to be notified when they post stuff. clearly that's not true, but now I have no idea what the design purpose of subscribing to youtube channels is or ever was.

meanwhile the sole and only reason I am subscribed to the verified Miraculous Ladybug channel is, when they upload videos, I want to be notified!

does anyone have any idea how to work around this? maybe an IFTTT thingy? help!

update: both IFTTT on my phone (to notify me whenever a new public video is posted to the channel) and Feedly (dropping the channel link in like it's an RSS feed) are working for me
